Over the last few years, I have been fighting for Environmental Justice. I founded the 'Elmsford Climate Smart Community (CSC) Task Force' and the 'Elmsford Conservation Advisory Council (CAC)' to help refocus my community towards a sustainable future for everyone. We partner with non-profit organizations, local municipal officials as well as the surrounding municipalities to create a healthy, cleaner, livable environment to learn, work, live and thrive.
The Great Saw Mill River Cleanup 2024
The Elmsford Climate Smart Community (CSC) Task Force & Elmsford Conservation Advisory Council (CAC) partnered with Groundwork Hudson Valley (GHV) for the '15th Annual Great Saw Mill River Cleanup' on Earth Week. We had approximately 50 volunteers from the surrounding area which included students from the local school district. A total of 40 bags of garbage/plastic, (10) tires, a shopping cart, power washer, a boat load of plastic, construction signage & cones, and a possible cannon ball were fished out of the river and off the riverbank.

The Great Saw Mill River Cleanup 2023
The Elmsford Climate Smart Community (CSC) Task Force & Elmsford Conservation Advisory Council (CAC) partnered with Groundwork Hudson Valley (GHV) for the '14th Annual Great Saw Mill River Cleanup' on Earth Day. This year, Elmsford became an official location on GHV's listing. We had approximately 40 volunteers from the surrounding area which included students from the local school district. A total of 30 bags of garbage/plastic, (4) 55 gallon drums, various car parts and building materials were fished out of the river.

Elmsford's Rush to the River 2022
The Elmsford Climate Smart Community (CSC) Task Force in partnership with Groundwork Hudson Valley (GHV) cleaned up the Saw Mill River and surrounding area in the Village of Elmsford back in September 2022. There were 20+ volunteers from the neighborhood which included the local school districts Green Club. A total of 56 bags of garbage/plastic were collected and 11 car/truck tires were fished out of the river. This was the second river sweep of 2022.
The Great Saw Mill River Cleanup 2022
Our first Elmsford cleanup was in May of 2022. Groundwork Hudson Valley hosted an additional day (just for Elmsford) for their '13th Annual Great Saw Mill River Cleanup.' There were 11 volunteers which included local students from the district. A total of 32 bags of garbage/plastic were collected and 6 car/truck tires were fished out of the river.
